The Review logo was based on a design of a badge from Manly Company during World Word II. Manly Company (now Squadron) commenced an appeal to promote public awareness and raise the much needed funds to continue their contribution to the war effort.  In connection with this appeal, a small tin button badge was created, depicting a Cadet in uniform with a diving aeroplane in the background and boarded with the words “Manly AAL Appeal”.  The badge had a face value of 1 Shilling and was sold throughout the local community.

In celebration of the rich history of the Australian Air League, this historical wartime design was recreated for the 2018 Australian Air League Review.
