Game Five (5) Time Ball Relay - Basket Ball

“First Whistle” All team members standing to attention and captain has the ball at their feet positioned at the first marker.

“Second Whistle” Ready Position. Captain runs to the three (3) metre marker positioned at the front of the team. The remainder of the team members move off their markers and bunch up behind the front marker.

“Third Whistle” Captain throws the ball to the first member who throws it back and assumes a crouched position. The captain then throws it to the next member who returns the ball to the captain then assumes a crouched position and so on until each member has caught and returned the ball. The last member on catching the ball runs up the right hand side of the team (as indicated by the arrow) to the captain’s position at the three (3) metre markers. At the same time the captain returns to the front of the team behind the first marker.

This procedure continues until the captain receives the ball as the last member and runs to the three (3)
metre marker, faces the team and stands to attention with the ball at their feet. The rest of the team must move back to their one (1) metre intervals and also be standing to attention for the team to be judged as having finished the game.

If the ball is dropped during the game it must be returned to the thrower for the throw to be repeated until it is caught cleanly by the receiver. The crouched position is defined as being feet and hands only resting on the ground. Members must not sit on the ground.

Failure by any team to not follow either the general conditions or specific game rules may result in disqualification.
